Sunday Night
The weather looks good for the sail north on Sunday night. SSW winds at 9-12 Knots, waves less that 2 feet and a chance of thunder storms. We have 9 crew for this leg of the voyage and there is room for more, the return trip is full. The Holland trip in the first week of August has room on both legs.
Port Washington, we have more signed up for this voyage than can fit aboard so we will be reviewing our records and sending confirmations to the crew have the most volunteers hours, and the necessary ratings(Senior Deckhand, Masters license, cook). We will schedule those whom have signed up for both legs to just one before turning qualified crew members away so that as many as possible get an opportunity to crew on a voyage each year.

Boy Scout Overnight
Our first Boy Scout overnight went well. The scouts were kept busy with activities at the museum before retiring to the Ship. At 9am we set sail as we headed out the channel. Scouts were given a chance to handle all the sails and steer through our maneuvers. After a MOB drill we headed back in and the scouts spent the afternoon sanding and painting all of the benches and railings at the Museum.

P.S. I was trying to take a picture and this is what happened. So heres a little video clip of us setting the sails in the channel.

May 3rd's training sail
We canceled the sail after leaving the dock when current and wind conditions made it unsafe to turn around in the channel. We did double reef the main and walk through the M.O.B. drill dockside. Those needing to reschedule can sign up for the 14th or 16th 6pm sails. If these dates don't work we will add a sail during the day. The sail on the 10th is full at this time.

SIgning up to sail as crew
The web site calender is accurate and updated regularly. You may sign up for sails by emailing me the dates and times you are available and I will reply with a confirmation.
Jim Schneider
In answer to the comment posted below, we don't have the crew sign up part of the calender working at this time. To sign up you can look at the sail times and dates on the calender then email me with the date and time you would like to sail. The +1 or +2 means there is more scheduled than fit in the box and you click on it to see it.
